Brookfield Participates in Industry & Expert Consultation on Short-Term Rentals

Senior Brookfield management, including President Sandro Zuliani and Regional Manager Katherine Gow, have joined the City of Toronto’s consultative process on developing regulations for short-term rentals in Toronto. Sandro and Katherine participated in a stakeholders’ meeting on March 23rd

Amongst the issues discussed in some detail were: ease of compliance and enforcement, data sharing and collection, taxation, equitable treatment and property rights, existing frameworks (approvals, zoning, and principles for future change) as well as community impacts from both an infrastructure and neighbourhood perspective in a fast-changing marketplace.

The City of Toronto is hosting two upcoming public meetings. Please see the meeting details below.  The city will also be providing a public survey on its website effective March 28th. If you are a condominium owner or resident, please share your thoughts on how to regulate short-term rentals in Toronto.  Visit the City of Toronto’s Policy, Public Consultation and Events page on Short-term Rentals.

We urge all members of communities to inform themselves via the City of Toronto’s Public Meetings, online tools and provide their feedback.
