Provincial Deadline for Annual Energy, Water Reporting & Benchmarking Approaching
Submitted By: admin on Jun 04, 2021
All residential and commercial condominiums over 100,000 square feet (roughly greater than 100 units) are required to comply with Ontario Regulation 506/18. O. Reg 506/18 is typically referred to as Energy Water Reporting and Benchmarking, or EWRB. The EWRB regulation requires each condominium corporation to submit their Electricity, Gas and Water consumption via a ministry portal by July 1st of each year. The EWRB is an annual reporting requirement – the first condominium submission was required in 2019 where 2018 calendar year data was to be reported.
Crossbridge’s Energy Manager reviewed several proposals in early March 2019 and recommended Energy@Work be retained to perform this work. To get started with your first year’s report, or if you can’t find your last year’s benchmarking result, contact lisa.liang@energy-efficiency.com. Energy@Work charges $1,000 for the initial reporting year because it requires the collection of some physical building data. The cost goes down to $380 for each subsequent years’ reporting.
This year, the Ministry has informed their stakeholders that there is some flexibility around the July 1st reporting deadline given the extraordinary events of 2021.
Crossbridge has the property management industry’s only Ontario Power Authority sanctioned Embedded Energy Manager
Crossbridge’s clients have realized approximately $1 million of new savings each year
Since mid-2010 we have facilitated annual utility savings to our clients totaling nearly $8.0 million
We have also urged government departments and agencies to address inequities in utility billing, evaluated new products and services, developed new municipal codes and established industry best protocols for our clients (e.g. Electrical vehicle charging in condominiums)
