An Informed Condo Resident is a Better Condo Resident – Three (3) Excellent Resources to Help Inform

With condominiums emerging as the dominant housing option, more and more people are moving into condominium communities with little understanding of the nature of multi-residential living generally and condominium living specifically.  Many conflicts can emerge because of that unawareness.

What can residents do to get a better understanding of condominium living and the inevitable conflicts and compromises?

Fortunately, there are several good educational resources from recognized authorities. Of the three that are linked to below, two come from the Condominium Authority of Ontario (CAO) and one comes from the law firm of Shibley Righton.  The latter is authored by Audrey Loeb, who has been a leading condominium lawyer for more than four decades and is the author of The Condominium Act: A User's Manual which has been the definitive text for the teaching of condominium law.

These are excellent and informative resources which you should add to your welcome package for new residents and place in your corporation’s online library if you have one.
