Brookfield buildings are the first in line for electricity savings through new Toronto Hydro program!

As managers, we are very aware that our clients are seeing an almost 18% increase to their electricity bills from last year – mostly from the ending of the Ontario Clean Energy Benefit in January 2016 and the warmer weather this summer that increased cooling costs. This is why we were excited to roll out a new Toronto Hydro program called PUMPsaver. This program will help reduce our clients’ electricity costs at no cost to them. As a bonus to our clients, and affirmation of our good record for energy savings, Brookfield-managed buildings will be first in line to start saving.
Here is a summary of the program, and why we are so excited by it:
a) The program makes Building Circulation Pumps run much more efficiently by installing proven technology Variable Speed Drives (VFDs).
b) The program is 100% paid for by Toronto Hydro – no capital is required!
c) A pilot showed an average savings of 30% - ranging from $4,000 to $20,000 per year.
d) Brookfield buildings will be first in line to this program, and will be first to start saving.
Crossbridge has the property management industry’s only Ontario Power Authority sanctioned Embedded Energy Manager
Crossbridge’s clients have realized approximately $1 million of new savings each year
Since mid-2010 we have facilitated annual utility savings to our clients totaling nearly $8.0 million
We have also urged government departments and agencies to address inequities in utility billing, evaluated new products and services, developed new municipal codes and established industry best protocols for our clients (e.g. Electrical vehicle charging in condominiums)
